Maha: Two stabbed, over Rs 33 lakh looted from cash van

Thane (Maha), Sep 13 (PTI) A gang of four unidentifiedpersons allegedly looted Rs 33.68 lakh from a cash van inBhiwandi area here after stabbing two employees of the tollcollection firm, police said today. The incident took place yesterday at Kalwar when theaccused waylaid the four-wheeler carrying the cash, which wasto be deposited in a bank, a press release by the ThaneDistrict Rural Police said. The four accused, who came in a car and a two-wheeler,also threw chili powder on accountant Ganashyam Tiwari andanother employee of the firm and stabbed them, it said, addingthe injured have been admitted to a hospital. Following a complaint by Tiwari, a case under relevantsections of IPC has been registered and a manhunt was launchedto nab the accused, said the release. PTI COR NRB TIRRDS
