Man booked for cruelty to animal in Reasi

Jammu, Sep 17 (PTI) A man was booked for allegedlyferrying pilgrims on his injured horse to cave shrine of ShivKhori in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district, police saidtoday. Zalim Singh was booked under Cruelty to Animals Actyesterday, a senior police officer said. He was booked following a complaint by a pilgrim when hesaw the horse limping and his leg badly injured, he said. The man along with the horse were brought to the policestation and he was asked to ensure treatment for the animal,the officer said. A case has been registered against the man, he said. Meanwhile, police authorities directed the Station HouseOfficer of the area to conduct a survey of the injured andailing horses being used for ferrying pilgrims to the caveshrine.
