State funeral for Uri martyrs, candlelight march in Ranchi

Gumla/Khunti (Jharkhand), Sep 20 (PTI) State funeral wastoday accorded to the Uri martyrs — Nayaman Kujur of Gumlaand Javra Munda of Khunti — who were among the 18 killed bysuspected Pakistan-backed terrorists in Kashmir even as acandlelight march was taken out in the memory of the slainjawans. Captain Vijendra Singh represented the Sikh Regiment asthe last bugle sounded the post at Uru village in Gumladistrict where Kujur’s funeral was held. Jharkhand Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Amar Bauri,MLA Shiv Shankar Oraon, CRPF Commandant VP Singh, DeputyCommandant Vishal Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Sarvan Sahay andseveral other officials and civilians were present on theoccasion. Javra Munda was also accorded state funeral in theneighbouring Khunti district in the presence of JharkhandRural Development Minister Nilkant Singh Munda, ADGP ReziDungdung, MLA Poulis Surin, Deputy Commissioner Chandrasekhar,Superintendent of Police Anis Gupta and several others as thelast bugle sounded the post. Meanwhile, several people, including journalists, took outa candlelight march near the Elbert Ekka statue in Ranchi. PTIPVR SUSRC
