Tripura BJP to continue prolonged campaign against LF

Agartala, Sep 20 (PTI) The Tripura unit of BJP todayannounced that it would continue a prolonged campaign againstthe CPI-M led Left Front government in Tripura for itsinvolvement in alleged misappropriation of funds and partisanattitude in distributing benefits to the people from differentgovernment projects. A procession organized by the party today passedthrough different parts of the capital city and latersubmitted a memorandum consisting 11 point charter of demandsto Chief Secretary, Y P Singh at the civil secretariat. The demands included end to alleged corruptions,misappropriation of funds in different government schemesincluding in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, MGNREGA, SC and STwelfare, Sarba Siksha Abhijan (SSA), NRHM, Pradhan MantriFashal Beema Yojana. Before submission of the deputation, party in-chargeof the state, Sunil Deodhar said, “Brazen corruptions of thegovernment led by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is now nosecret. This government is misappropriating funds to swell itsparty funds and showing partisan attitude in distributingbenefits from centrally sponsored schemes”. "More than Rs.500 crore was cheated by different chitfund companies from the people of the state. We stronglydemand that the government has to recommend a CBI inquiry intothis matter and arrange to return the money to the people”,Deodhar added. He also demanded central pay scale for the employeesof the state and alleged that the government was deliberatelydepriving the employees by not implementing the central payscales.
