Akhilesh writes to PM , asks to postpone the budget after polls.

Date:

Akhilesh Yadav has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi, asking him to consider presenting the Union and Rail Budget to a later date citing reasons that Uttar Pradesh , the most populated state of India, with nearly 20 crore people, will be left out from special schemes to be presented in the Union Budget.

Akhilesh referred to the Election Commission directive on 23rd January that restricted the Central Government from announcing any special schemes for poll bound states as it might affect the voters’ interests. He also recalled an instance from 2012 when the Union Budget was postponed by then government by itself to accommodate the election process.
