Drake dominates Billboard Music Awards; wins 13 awards

On Sunday’s 2017 Billboard Music Awards (BBMA), Drake secured 13 trophies, becoming the artist with the most awards in a single year, by securing 13 trophies at the awards function.

The Canadian rapper beat fellow artists Adele, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Rihanna, Twenty One Pilots and The Weeknd in the top artist category. He brought his entire team on stage to accept the award, reported Billboard.

Twenty One Pilots and Beyonce were also big winners on the night, with five BBMAs apiece, while The Chainsmokers earned four. Beyonce earned the top female artist award, while Zayn Malik bagged the top new artist trophy.

This year’s BBMA was hosted by Vanessa Hudgens and Ludacris, and featured performances by Cher, Celine Dion, and Florida George Line with John Legend.
