”Dressing room talks have to be private” Virat Kohli’s response on Kumble’s resignation

Responding to Anil Kumble‘s resignation and his remarks about Virat Kohli, Indian skipper said: “The sanctity of the dressing room needs to be maintained”, during Trinidad pre-match press conference.

“Anil Bhai has expressed his views and he has taken a decision to step out and we all respect that decision. It’s something that has happened right after the tournament,” he added while addressing the media.

Virat Kohli also said that from last 11 matches in press conferences in Champions Trophy T20, dressing room talks shall not leave the space according to the culture created by the team. It’s paramount to maintain the sanctity of dressing room inside the four walls.

Anil Kumble resigned from the position of head coach on Wednesday and posted his resignation letter on Twitter. The letter gave the clear reason behind his resignation and spat between Kohli and Kumble was confirmed the moment letter was displayed.

Anil Kumble stated the coach-captain partnership as ‘irreparable’. Meanwhile, Kohli has deleted his tweet welcoming Anil Kumble as a coach on June 23, 2016. He welcomed Anil Kumble as the head coach by tweeting “Heartiest welcome to @anilkumble1074 Sir. Look forward to your tenure with us. Great things in store for Indian Cricket with you 😊”
