Dinesh Dubey reveals all his endeavors to intervene Nirav Modi-PNB Scam

Date:

Former independent director of the-then UPA government, Dinesh Dubey appeared on Republic TV to reveal the full extent of his endeavoured interventions in the matter of allegedly unsanctioned loans being given to Mehul Choksi, MD of Gitanjali Jewelry and uncle of Nirav Modi. However, now both Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are at the centre of the alleged Rs 11,400 crore PNB fraud.

Dinesh Dubey, who was appointed an independent director by the UPA government in August 2012, spoke to Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, where he revealed that he wrote several emails to RBI and the then financial services secretary over loans to Mehul Choksi.

Appearing LIVE on Republic TV, he also presented new and startling evidence suggesting that knowledge of the fraud loans had been flagged at multiple levels of the Allahabad Bank as well as the Reserve Bank of India.

“I have mailed multiple times. On every agenda. I have done my duty,” Dubey said.

Over the course of a long interview, he said that he stated the opposition to his emails within the top levels of the bank.

“In a full board meeting, the CMD and ED said ‘you mail the government and RBI — this causes us disturbance. We’re repeatedly required to answer. We will bring a resolution of the board on you,'” he said.

Dubey explained that he even had gone to meet the Finance secretary and produced a letter written to him containing signatures of all the board members of the bank.

As part of the conversation, he put forth the details of his interaction with the Finance Secretary, eventually leading to his resignation.

“I will say it a hundred times that I was told that ‘there’s pressure from above, there’s pressure from above, there’s pressure from above'”

He also pledged his intention to help the government in any matter related to the scam.
