Boney Kapoor, Janhvi and Khushi immerse Sridevi’s Ashes in Rameswaram

Date:

Legendary actress of Bollywood Sridevi, who is also called as the first female superstar, passed away in Dubai on February 24. Her sudden demise has left Bollywood, her fans, and her family in mourning.

Reportedly, Sridevi went to Dubai along with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi, to attend actor Mohit Marwah’s wedding. She was found lying unconscious in a bathtub, by Boney. The death certificate in Dubai stated that the actress died due to “accidental drowning.” The entire incident of the fateful night was recounted by Boney to his friend and trade analyst Komal Nahta.

Sridevi’s mortal remains were flown back to Mumbai from Dubai on February 27 wrapped in tricolour. A state funeral was also held for the late actress on February 28. Scores of fans and friends thronged to the venue to pay their respects to Sridevi, and bid her goodbye.

Boney along with his daughters, Khushi and Janhvi, flew to Chennai yesterday, to immerse her ashes in Rameshwaram sea. The ashes have now been immersed.

Boney and Jahnvi had also penned emotional tributes to Sridevi this week requesting that everyone let them grieve in peace, and to only remember her fondly.

Jahnvi wrote, “It mattered a great deal to her to give love and to get love. For people to be good and gracious and kind. She didn’t understand frustration or malice or jealousy. So let’s be that. Let’s be full of only good and give only love. That would make her happy, to know that even in death, she gave you all something. The courage and inspiration to fill yourselves with nothing but love and rid yourselves of bitterness in any way and form. That’s what she stood for. Dignity, strength and innocence. Thank you for the love and support everyone has shown us in the past couple of days. It’s given us hope and strength and we can’t thank you all enough.”
