Tea seller ups the ante, makes 12 lakh per month

Date:

Tea is perhaps the most-loved beverage in India and has now the distinction of being the present Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s earstwhile profession for which he has received laurels as well as brickbats.

As it is no big secret that drinking tea is the national pass time, so, selling tea is an occupation pursued by thousands – both poor and big business houses that sell fancy cups of tea at a premium. Baristas and tea shop chains now dot every corner of our cities as do the poor kids selling chai-biscuit at the street corners.

Now, a tea seller in Pune has set a benchmark for his competitors across India by showing profits of Rs 12 lakh a month.

Yewle Tea House is today one of the famous tea stalls of Pune.

Navnath Yewle, co-founder of Yewle Tea House, says he plans to make it an international very soon.

Taking a dig at the PM’s endorsement of pakora-selling as a poor guy’s one-man business venture, he said, “Unlike the ‘pakora’ business, the tea selling business is also creating employment for Indians. This business is growing fast and I’m happy.”

Currently, Yewle Tea House has three centers in Pune and every center has about 12 employees working in it.
