Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s sisters Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Agnihotri, who were present in Jodhpur court to support their brother, broke down on hearing that he has been convicted for two years in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
According to sources, Salman’s sisters Arpita and Alvira broke down in court soon after the conviction was announced.
Salman has been held guilty of killing two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur in October 1998 during the shooting of the film “Hum Saath Saath Hain”. The quantum of sentence would be announced shortly.
NS Solanki, lawyer of Dushyant Singh, who was co-accused in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, has said that Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s counsels are praying for probation. The actor was facing charges under Section 9/51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
A Jodhpur court on Thursday convicted Salman Khan in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, while others – Tabu, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam – were acquitted. All the actors were in a Gypsy car on the night of October 1, 1998 that night, with Salman Khan allegedly in the driving seat. He reportedly spotted a herd of blackbucks and killed two of them.
