It is okay for most commoners to get properly dressed and groomed before meeting their prospective in-laws but, if you are getting married into Royalty then you have to go several notches above and beyond. The American actress Meghan Markle who is set to marry Prince Harry this summer got to know it frist hand. She had to be coached on tea etiquette before having some with her future grand-mom-in-law, Queen Elizabeth.

While some people fret over clothes, language or make-up (to wear or not) before meeting future in-laws, Meghan Markle had to go beyond much further if Andrew Morton, her biographer is to be believed.

And before you start asking, yes, he is the same writer who had written Lady Diana’s insanely famous autobiography which is read even to this day.

While we don’t know if Markle was able to memorize it all or not, but it is clear that she aced the interview as the Queen soon released her letter of approval for Markle’s wedding to Prince Harry.

The couple also revealed in a post-engagement interview that the Queen’s corgis were snuggling on Markle’s feet during the illustrious meeting – though it is not acceptable to have your pets around while having tea, no one bats an eyelid when the pets belong to the Queen of England, Elizabeth II.
