Tripathi to hold additional charge of Governor of Tripura

Keshari Nath Tripathi, the Governor of West Bengal has been given the additional charge of Governor of Tripura. The current governor, Tathagata Roy,is on a leave of absence.

Tripathi took oath as Governor of West Bengal on 24 July 2014 and has also held the additional charge as Governor of Bihar and Mizoram during his tenure. He is a Veteran BJP leader. Earlier, he was the speaker of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly and the president of Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party.

He was born on 10 November 1935 in Allahabad to Pandit Harish Chandra Tripathi and Smt. Shiva Devi. Tripathi is married to Sudha Tripathi and has three children.
