Sensex surges 0.73%; Nifty crosses 10,800 mark

The 30-share BSE Sensex opened weak on Friday but made a comeback to finish at 257.21 points, or 0.73% higher at 35,689.60, while the Nifty50 ended 80.75 points up at 10,821.85.

Support from institutional investors, positive sentiment in global markets led to the turnaround. All eyes are on the outcome of the meeting of the Organisation of petroleum exporting countries which is currently underway in Vienna.
