WATCH: How Indian Railways sets a new design and time record

Railways set a new record, the East Coast Railway of Indian Railways-Visakhapatnam Division made a subway at a busy railway track between Pendurthi and Kothavalasa line in just four and a half hours. Until now it was a manned level crossing.

The work was sanctioned in 2017, the limited height subway work, which comprised the installation of 20 segments of 1.5m width, was started in over four and a half hours back. The Railways authorities used 16 heavy duty excavators, three heavy duty cranes, five tippers (truck), 1,000 sandbags, four hydra machines, heavyweight jacks, and a workforce of as many as 300 people.

If you think that it was all hard work than you are wrong. In order to save time, the official lifted the boxes from both sides and placed at the requisite location. The people in the area have been hailing the Railways achievement for completing the Limited Height Subway project in record time.
