Junior Tendulkar claims first international wicket on India U-19 debut

Arjun Tendulkar, son of the ‘god of cricket’- Sachin Tendulkar, made his presence know on the international arena on Tuesday.

Arjun claimed his maiden international wicket on his debut in the first Youth Test for India U-19 against Sri Lanka U-19 in Colombo. The 18-year-old dismissed Sri Lanka U-19 team’s opener, Kamil Mishara on the last ball of his second over for just 9 runs.


Harish Tyagi and Ayush Badani, India U-19 bowlers claimed 4 wickets as the Sri Lanka U-19 scored 244 for all in their first innings.

Vinod Kambli,ex-India cricketer and Sachin Tendulkar’s childhood friend penned down an emotional message on Twitter, congratulating the young star on his debut wicket.

‘Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment.’ , he tweeted.
