The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district, reported Hindustan Times.

The bride and her kin were waiting for the bridegroom but they were told that the marriage has been called off due to bride’s habit of ‘excessive use of WhatsApp’, the report said.

However, the family denied the allegations, citing the dowry demands by the bridegroom’s side is the actual reason. Bride’s father has also launched a police complaint against the groom and his family for demanding Rs 65 lakh in dowry.
