Boy run over by car in building compound has miraculous escape

Date:

An eight-year-old boy had a narrow escape from a car that ran over him. He was playing in Goregaon East, in his building compound on Monday.

A footage recorded in the CCTV camera of the building has been doing rounds since Wednesday, for the viewers and police to watch and take an action against the driver. The lady driving the vehicle was arrested but left on bail the same day.

The boy was happily playing in the compound of Sadguru Complex with his friends where there were cars parked in a row. According to the footage, the lady sat in her car but could not see the boy who was tying his shoelaces alongside it. She just took her car out and without noticing the boy, went ahead and ran over him.

The boy just had a narrow escape even though the car ran over him. He somehow managed to pull himself out and walked towards his friends as if nothing had happened.

His friends did not know about the accident until he was about to lose consciousness and told them. They immediately informed his family members.

The family had no intentions of complaining against the girl, however, on being convinced by the police officials, they were forced to file one. The boy’s father told a national daily that something needs to be done about vehicles parked inside the building compound, and if nothing, at least the direction of the cars parked should change.

The girl was sentenced under section 337 that is made for criminals endangering life and safety and Motor Vehicles Act for not helping with medical aid for the victim and not informing the family or police about the incident.
