Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday announced that the farmers’ loans would be waived off when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the Odisha.
While addressing a public gathering in Bhadrak, the minister said, “We will waive off farmers’ loans when we come to power in Odisha.”

“We need to change this government in 2019,” he added attacking the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government. “The BJD government in Odisha has failed to safeguard the interest of farmers,” he said.
Recently, several farmer suicides were also reported in the stated. Ina recent case, a 26-year-old farmer from Gambhariguda village in Kalahandi district allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison due to crop loss and loan burden.
The Union Petroleum minister also said that unemployment in the state is growing every year and youths in the state are going out of the state for jobs.
