It is clear that some people never learn. The top two dumbest passwords for the past five years have been the same – ‘123456’ and ‘password’.
According to the software company SplashData the top 100 worst passwords used 2018, are not in the least.
At number 3 and 4 are inevitable combinations of the top worst password, that is 123456789 and 12345678. If that wasn’t enough, on number five is 12345. 111111 is also in the top 10 as is sunshine, qwerty, and iloveyou.

Newcomers to the list include “666666” (No. 14), “princess” (No. 11) and “donald” (No. 23). “Sorry, Mr. President, but this is not fake news — using your name or any common name as a password is a dangerous decision,” SplashData CEO Morgan Slain said in a release. “Hackers have great success using celebrity names, terms from pop culture and sports, and simple keyboard patterns to break into accounts online, because they know so many people are using those easy-to-remember combinations.”
The worst passwords list was generated after evaluating 5 million passwords leaked on the internet. It is also common for people to use celebrity names as passwords, which makes it easy for hackers to successfully crack the code.

The company estimates that about 10 percent of people have used at least one of the Top 25 worst passwords, and about 3 percent have used “123456.”
