India not impressed with Imran’s actions; same script repeating again

New Delhi: The Indian government on Saturday in a strong statement slammed Pakistan saying that Islamabad has not shown serious intent to address the concerns of India and the international community when it comes to reining in terror groups operating from its soil.

Pakistan remains in a state of denial, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, referring to Pakistan Army spokesperson’s statement that terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed does not exist in Pakistan.

“If Pakistan claims to be a Naya Pakistan (new Pakistan) with a nayi soch (new thinking), it should demonstrate naya action (new action) against terror groups operating from its soil,” Kumar said in a press briefing.

Raveesh Kumar further talked about Pakistan’s claim of shooting down India’s second aircraft.

“If as Pakistan claims it has a video recording of the downing of a second Indian aircraft then why have they not shared the video with international media?,” he said.

“There are eyewitness accounts and electronic evidence that Pakistan deployed F-16 aircraft and that one F-16 was shot down by Wing Commander Abhinandan. We have asked USA to also examine whether the use of F-16 against India is in accordance with terms and conditions of sale,” Kumar added.

On JeM taking responsibility of the Pulwama attack and Pakistan denying that, the Indian government said that “it is regrettable that Pakistan still continues to deny Jaish-e-Mohammed’s own claim of taking ownership of Pulwama attack.

“Pak Foreign Minister said ‘they (JeM) have not claimed responsibility of the attack, there is some confusion’ Is Pakistan defending the JeM?” Kumar said.

On being asked about fugitive Nirav Modi being spotted in London, the government asserted that the authorities are taking necessary steps tp bring Nirav Modi back.

“All necessary steps are being taken for the extradition of Nirav Modi. We have been aware of his presence in UK. It(extradition request) is under their (UK Govt) consideration,” Raveesh Kumar said.
