Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away on March 17 at the age of 63 at his son’s home in Panaji. He was battling a pancreatic ailment for more than a year.
President Ram Nath Kovind announced the death of the departed Chief Minister. “Extremely sorry to hear of the passing of Shri Manohar Parrikar, Chief Minister of Goa, after an illness borne with fortitude and dignity. An epitome of integrity and dedication in public life, his service to the people of Goa and of India will not be forgotten” he tweeted.

Condolence meet is scheduled to be held in the Union Cabinet at 11:00 am on March 18 for the deceased Chief Minister.
The government of Goa has announced 7-days mourning to be observed throughout Goa from March 18-March 24 as a mark of respect for the late Goa CM. During the period, National Flag will fly at Half Mast on all the buildings across Goa & there’ll be no official entertainment. Apart from this, CM of Goa, all the state government offices, local autonomous bodies, public sector undertakings, all educational institutions including aided institutions are instructed to remain closed on March 18.
