Date:

A picture is being circulated online about India’s first semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train introduced by Indian Railways – Tejas Express.

The post claims that the first Tejas Express ran from Ernakulam (Kerala) to Howrah (West Bengal) on February 2017.

FACT CHECK

When we fact-checked this, we found out that all the information is wrong.

The inaugural run of Tejas Express was from Mumbai CST to Karmali, Goa on 24 May 2017. It covered 552 km in 8 hours and 30 minutes. On 2 March 2019, second Tejas Express was flagged off between Chennai Egmore and Madurai by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Also, the image of the train used is also different.
