‘Saand Ki Aankh’ posters: Presenting Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar as ‘Shooter Daadis’

Earlier this year, ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap announced a biopic on the famous Shooter Daadis, Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, titled ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. The two actresses roped in to portray these women of steel were Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar which created a lot of buzz.

The two can be seen in an authentic look in a ghagra with a shirt with guns in their hands. The story is set in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat district, the hometown of the famous ‘shooter dadis’.Taapsee and Bhumi look absolutely perfect for their role as they can be seen donning a new look with grey hair and wrinkled face.

Another poster was unveiled by the makers where the two actresses are pointing their guns with a boisterous attitude.

The film is helmed by writer Tushar Hiranandani who has penned films like ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Ek Villain’. This is the first time Taapsee and Bhumi will share screen space and the actresses have been sharing BTS pictures from the location on their social media handles. They have also spent a lot of time understanding their characters by spending time with Chandro and Prakashi Tomar and imbibSing their attitude and body language.

The film was earlier to be titled ‘Womaniya’ but due to conflict with Pratish Nandy over the title, the makers renamed the film to ‘Saand Ki Aankh’.

Saand Ki Aankh will showcase the journey of the oldest shooters in the world and will hit the screens during Diwali this year.
