A post has been going viral on social media which shows a cop kicking and smashing an old man’s typewriter.
The caption on the post read, ” Plz itna share kro ki police walo ko pta lge ki kisi ki rozi roti pe laat nahi maartey……”
The picture was posted on Facebook on April 5, 2019, and at the time of filing the report, it was shared by more than 61,000 Facebook users.
FACT CHECK
When NewsMobile fact-checked the picture, we found out that the images are old.
In 2015, sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar – in an effort to evict pavement dwellers and vendors – kicked and destroyed the typewriter of an old man, his only source of income.
The incident drew a lot of criticism and the SI was suspended for his behaviour.
This proves that old pictures are being circulated without any context and it could be misleading.
