An Indian Air Force AN-32 overran a runway at Mumbai airport late night on Tuesday, leading to the closure of the runway. Nobody was injured due to the incident.
The plane was still at the runway till Wednesday morning and soon an IAF team reached the airport to clear the runway. The operations of the airport were hampered with over 50 flights being affected. The average delay was around half an hour.
Being one of the busiest airports in the country, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport saw a huge delay and people lined up. The AN-32 faced a technical delay and an official statement confirmed that a departing Air Force plane had had a “runway excursion” at 23.39 pm on Tuesday.
People at the airport shared pictures of the queue on social media.
