After Gandhis, Mayawati & Akhilesh, Chandrababu Naidu to meet Mamata Banerjee

Date:

With polling for the general elections over across all 7 phases, it is time for political parties to work on their strategy for the future, which also includes post poll alliances.

In the same context, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Sunday. Reports say that he is to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today, May 20, to take forward his efforts to unite opposition parties against the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha election results on May 23.

According to sources, Chandrababu Naidu will hold a meeting with Mamata Banerjee at the West Bengal secretariat this afternoon to discuss strategies of the ‘mahagatbandhan’ (grand alliance), ahead of the May 23 counting.

They may also discuss the meeting that he had with Congress leaders a day before. Naidu has been meeting many opposition leaders. On Sunday, apart from Congress senior leadership, he met Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury. He also had a talk with Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
