Date:

India won its opening match at the ICC World Cup 2019 against South Africa quite comfortably with Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten ton but it was MS Dhoni stole the show on social media as during India’s fielding at Southhampton fans spotted a special symbol embroidered on the gloves of wicket-keeper and former Indian captain, MS Dhoni.

The zoomed in shots of his green gloves showed the regimental dagger insignia of the Indian Para Special Forces also known as ‘Balidaan’ symbolising sacrifice which gave fans a buzz.

This symbolises former skipper’s love and dedication towards his country and armed forces.

Dhoni has been conferred an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment in 2011. He also went training under the Para Brigade in 2015.
