‘Kabir Singh’ crosses Rs 100 crore mark on Day 5

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani are going gaga over the success of ‘Kabir Singh’ as the film crosses the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The movie is doing enormous business at the box office and has embarked one of the best openings of the year.

The film is rewriting the rules of the box office with  Rs 17.5 crore box office collection on the fourth day and Rs 16.50 crore on its fifth day. The film is trending better than all big films that released this year, seeing practically no drop at all.

The Arjun Reddy adaptation, Kabir Singh had sparkled massive controversy over the scenes that glorify misogyny, sexism and violence against women.

However, despite the criticism the movie is doing well at the box office and has emerged as the fourth biggest Hindi opener this year.

Kabir Singh’s total business in five days is Rs 104.25 crore , despite the release in only 3123 screens on a non-holiday weekend.

Trade analyst, Tarun Adarsh on Tuesday tweeted that the film will hit Rs 100 crore mark on Day 5. It is trending better than all biggies released this year like Bharat, Kesari, Total Dhamaal and Gully boy.

According to him, ‘Kabir Singh’ may challenge URI, the highest grossing Hindi film of 2019.

Moreover, as Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh is minting money, there are controversies growing around the film with every passing day.

According to reports, a Mumbai based doctor has filed a complaint against the makers of the film for putting doctors in bad light as many scenes of the film show the Kabir Singh character as a reckless doctor with alcohol and temper issues.

However, the actor’s fan are loving the movie and the movie is currently basking in the success.
