Andhra govt serves notice to Naidu for removal of house taken on lease

Date:

Amaravati: Days after demolishing Praja Vedika, a public grievance hall constructed by the previous TDP government, the Andhra Pradesh government led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday served a notice for ‘removal’ of an illegal guesthouse on the Krishna riverbed taken on lease by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) issued a showcase notice to M Lingamaneni Ramesh, the owner of the guesthouse.

Meanwhile, TDP leaders slammed the state government’s decision to serve a notice to former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that the current chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is ‘unaware’ of basic procedures.

The authority issued the notice on June 27 stating that at least 10 violations, including erecting of sheds have been noticed in the property.

While serving the notice, APCRDA asked Naidu and his family to give an explanation within one week. “You are directed to reply to this notice within seven days failing which further action would be initiated,” the notice stated.

Last week, Jagan Reddy had ordered the demolition of ‘Praja Vedika’ (people grievances’ hall), claiming that the hall was constructed illegally and violated many acts. The structure was constructed during the previous TDP government in the state.
