Fact Checked: No! This machine is not a rain cloud generator

Date:

A video has surfaced on the internet in which a machine can be seen generating an enormous amount of white smoke.

The claim attached to the video is that the machine in the video is a rain cloud generator engine developed by NASA.

The caption of the video read: “Rain clouds generator engine developed by Nasa. See where the world is moving…Amazing…!”

The above video is also tweeted by veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan on his verified Twitter handle.

FACT CHECK

When we did a fact check on the video, we found that while the video is genuine, the claim attached to it is FAKE.

On putting the keyframe of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found a video on YouTube published on October 29, 2010.

The title of the video read: “Space Shuttle Rocket Booster Test | Speed | Top Gear”

The description of the video read: “Jeremy Clarkson heads to Mississippi where NASA test their Space Shuttle solid rocket boosters. Consuming half a million gallons of fuel, they generate the thrust needed to propel astronauts into space. They’re a tad noisy too!”

The above information proves that the video shows NASA’s Space Shuttle rocket booster and not a rain cloud generating engine.

Hence, the claim is FAKE.
