Today in Parliament, an uproar by the opposition Congress over developments in Karnataka stalled pre-noon proceedings in the Rajya Sabha, with practically no business conducted in the House.

Congress members stormed into the well shouting slogans against the ruling BJP at the Centre, which it has blamed for instigating a rebellion within the Congress-JD(S) government in Karnataka.

On the other hand in Lok Sabha, Congress members staged a walkout from the Lower House after raising slogans in the house. Both the houses were been adjourned till 2 pm.

Here are some major updates

1. Disruption by Congress stalled proceedings in Rajya Sabha, with practically no business conducted in the House.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh responded to the sloganeering soon after the Congress MPs staged a walk-out. He said, “Whatever is happening in Karnataka right now are the Congress’ “home matters”. But the Congress is not able to resolve these internal matters, and in addition, they are also trying to disrupt the Lower House.”

7. Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 PM. Earlier, it was adjourned till noon following uproar over Karnataka crisis.

 8. Union Minister Nityanand Rai said in Lok Sabha that security situation in Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed an improvement and the net infiltration from across the border has reduced by 43 per cent after a surgical strike was carried out on terror camps in Pakistan.

9. BJP Parliamentary Party meeting held in Delhi.


10. Congress also held meeting of party’s Lok Sabha MPs of Congres called by Sonia Gandhi at Parliament.
