New Delhi: Amid US President Donald Trump’s Kashmir mediation claims, the Parliament on Tuesday witnessed the chaos in both houses, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar ‘categorically assured’ in the Rajya Sabha that no such request had been made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I would like to categorically assure the House that no such request has been made by PM Modi,” Jaishankar said in the upper house of the Parliament.

“It has been India’s consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally. Any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross-border terrorism,” Jaishankar added.
“The Shimla Agreement & the Lahore declaration provides the basis to resolve all issues between India & Pakistan bilaterally,” he said.
Meanwhile, the opposition parties have demanded PM Modi to address the Parliament on the controversy.
