The Ministry of External Affairs in its weekly briefing on Friday said that the Indo-Japanese annual summit dialogue will be held in India from December 15-17th this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be hosting his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe during this event.

Though, it was reported by the media earlier that Guwahati in Assam will be the venue for this summit and a visit to Imphal (capital of Manipur) too is on the cards. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale and other senior officials from various Ministries are said to have visited these states and met officials of the state administration and reviewed the preparations for the same.
Issues related to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), defence cooperation, economic assistance, trade and investments and cooperation in joint projects in other countries will be some of the major issues that are expected to dominate the annual summit this year.
It was only last year that PM Shinzo Abe hosted PM Modi in Japan for the annual summit.
Further details as to the location, schedule and matters up for discussion are yet to be revealed.
On certain other issues, Raveesh Kumar, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs also lashed out at Pakistan for its duplicity and insincerity in ensuring justice for the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. He pointed out that the perpetrators of the attack were still roaming around freely and are supported by the government there.
He further added that the government and the Embassy of India in Sudan are in touch with the local government ensuring that the Indian workers who were injured or have succumbed to their injuries are being tended to.
Calling the situation in Nigeria where some Indian sailors have been kidnapped as critical, he said that all efforts are being taken to secure their release.
