Ravi Mittal appointed as new Information and Broadcasting Secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday appointed Ravi Mittal as the new Secretary of Information and Broadcasting.

Mittal, a 1986 batch Bihar cadre IAS officer, will replace Amit Khare who has been appointed as the new secretary of the Department of Higher Education in Ministry of HRD.

Mittal is currently working as the Special Secretary in the Department of Financial Services in the Ministry of Finance. Also, TV Somanathan appointed as Expenditure Secretary. A 1987 batch IAS officer, Somanathan is presently serving in his cadre state Tamil Nadu.

Apart from this, the ACC also appointed Sushil Kumar as Mines Secretary and Praveen Kumar as Secretary in Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
