Popular TV show host and actor Sushant Singh said that he is no longer a part of ‘Savdhaan India’. This statement comes amid his involvement against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Singh has been associated with the show since 2011 and took to Twitter indicating that the main reason behind his exit is his participation in the protests.

He said that it was a “small price” that he was paying to speak out.
The actor wrote, “My stint with Savdhaan India has ended.”
However, Star Bharat which currently airs “Saavdhan India” issued a statement clarifying that the actor’s contract was ending on January 15 and that the termination was not due to his political views.
The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 seeks to grant Indian citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Christian communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
The new Act has led to various protests against it across the nation.
