Britain: Queen Elizabeth II approves government’s Brexit bill

Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday formally approved the landmark law facilitating Britain’s departure from the European Union at the end of January.

“Her Majesty the Queen has now granted #RoyalAssent to the #BrexitBill which therefore becomes the #BrexitAct,” Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay said on Twitter.

“Enshrined in law, this enables the UK to leave the EU on 31st Jan.

The official handle of the Department for Exiting the EU tweeted the clip of Deputy Speaker Nigel Evans making the announcement to the Commons.

In November last year, Britain and EU had agreed to a deal and with this approval, the 40 years of relation between UK and EU will end by the end of this month.
