US President Donald Trump will be visiting India from February 24-25. This is the first time in the history of Indo-US relations that this will be a standalone visit.
The President will be visiting India for 36 hours.
Here is the schedule of the US President when he arrives in India,
February 24
12:00- Touch down at Ahmedabad and will then proceed to the Sardar Vallabhai Patel stadium. The two leaders will stopover at the Sabarmati Ashram for a brief while and pay their respects to Mahatma Gandhi.
12:30- The two leaders will leave for the Sardar Vallabhai Patel stadium where more than 1 Lakh people are expected to attend the event which is in the largest cricket stadium in the world. Bollywood celebrities are expected to perform. The PM will then also host a formal lunch for the President.
15:30- The President and the First Lady will then leave for Agra to visit the Taj Mahal.
17:30- The President and the First Lady will be in Taj Mahal for about 45 minutes and will then proceed to New Delhi.
February 25
10:00- President Donald Trump and the First Lady will visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan and will be received by the President of India Ramnath Kovind. A ceremonial welcome will be extended to the visiting dignitaries.
10: 45- The President and the First Lady will pay their respects to Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj Ghat.
11:30- Trump will reach Hyderabad House and the official meetings will commence. Meanwhile, the First Lady will visit a Primary school in New Delhi.
15:00 hours- A meeting with the top CEO’s of Indian companies will take place at the US Embassy in New Delhi.
20:00 Hours- A state banquet will be organized at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in honour of the visiting dignitary.
22:00 hours- The entire delegation will leave for the airport and will depart for the US.
Ahead of the visit, India has stated that the issue of H1B visas is critical and hopes to discuss it with the US side.
Other important issues related to defence cooperation, strategic ties and people to people shall also be discussed.
In the evening, the President of India will organize a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary and then the US President is expected to return to the US.
