Celebrities have advised their fans to take preventive measures against the deadly coronavirus, which has claimed over 6500 lives worldwide.
The celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Bella Hadid, Naomi Campbell, Anushka Sharma, Anupam Kher, and many more took their advice over social media to advise their fans to take precaution against the deadly COVID-19.
Anupam Kher shared a video on Instagram and asked fans to avoid shaking hands and instead greet each other with a Namaste.
He wrote, ”Of late I am being told by lots of people to keep washing hands to prevent any kind of infection. I do that in any case. But also want to suggest the age old Indian way of greeting people called #Namaste. It is hygienic, friendly and centres your energies.”
As ditching handshakes is gaining currency in the wake of coronavirus outbreak across the world, with international sports persons endorsing fist bumps instead, Bollywood stars and India’s leading sports persons are calling on their fans and social media followers to do the traditional Namaste to greet each other.

Amid the rapidly spreading COVID-19 in India, Amitabh Bachchan also expressed concern through the medium of social media. Big B took to Twitter to share a video of himself in which the megastar can be seen reciting a poem on coronavirus scare and the precautions one can take. In the video, he is speaking in the Awadhi dialect.
India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu is the latest public figure to endorse the idea of greeting people with a Namaste. The 24-year old said on Sunday that she would not be shaking hands during next week’s All England Open Badminton Championships in Birmingham and use ‘Namaste’ greeting instead.

Naomi Campbell, the British model shared a photograph of herself wearing pink rubber gloves, telling her followers to ”be safe”. She wrote, ”Don’t forget your gloves” alongside a handglove emoji.
Gwyneth Paltrow shared a selfie of her wearing a heavy-duty face mask during a flight to Paris for Fashion Week, indicating towards taking precautions.
“En route to Paris. Paranoid? Prudent? Panicked? Placid? Pandemic? Propaganda? Paltrow’s just going to go ahead and sleep with this thing on the plane,” she wrote.
Stay safe. Don’t shake hands. Wash hands frequently.”
