Kamal Nath resigns as Madhya Pradesh CM ahead of floor test

Date:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Friday resigned from his post. “I have decided to tender my resignation to the Governor today,” he said addressing the media.

“The BJP thinks it will win by defeating me. They cannot weaken my resolve. I have always believed in values; the BJP won’t succeed. Irrespective of the post, we will continue to work for the people. I am going to resign and will meet the governor in this regard,” Kamal Nath told reporters.

Subsequently, he submitted his resignation to Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon. His letter states: “All that has happened in Madhya Pradesh in the last two weeks is a new chapter in the weakening of democratic principles.”
