Amid the outbreak of the Coronavirus, a video of a woman is doing rounds on social media in which she can be seen on a hospital bed talking about ‘not taking chances’ as she has been contracted with COVID-19. It is being claimed that the woman in the viral video is Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above video and found that the woman in the viral video is NOT Justin Trudeau’s wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau.

It is true that Sophie Grégoire Trudeau contracted Coronavirus after she showed flu-like symptoms upon return from the UK, but the woman in the video is not her.

On putting the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, we found the same video with Daily Mail logo on it.

On further investigation, we found an article on the ‘Daily Mail’ website dated March 19, 2020. According to the article, the woman in the viral video is 39-year old, Tara Jane Langston.

Hence, the above information proves that the claim attached to the viral video is FAKE.
