COVID-19 | Top 10 developments in India this Saturday

With India witnessing a constant rise in its COVID-19 figures, the corresponding developments related to them have seen a rise as well.

Here are the top 10 developments of the day-

1. India reports 1,490 new COVID-19 cases and 56 deaths in last 24 hours. The total cases now stands at 24,942, while the death toll now stands at 779.

Active cases: 18,953
Cured/discharged cases: 5,209

2. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi worst hit with COVID-19.

3. Maharashtra- 811 new COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths have been reported in the state today, taking the total number of positive cases to 7,628 and death toll to 323.

4. Gujarat: 256 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state today. Total coronavirus cases in the state now at 3,071 which includes 282 discharged/cured and 133 deaths.

5. The total number of the containment zones in the national capital stands at 95 now. With 111 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death reported today in Delhi, the total number of positive cases in Delhi till date rises to 2,625 and the death toll increased to 54

6. Himachal Pradesh government has decided to relax the curfew hours from 5:30 am to 7 am daily from Sunday onwards to facilitate the senior citizens and general public for morning walks.

7. Four persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Haryana’s Gurugram today. Total positive cases in the district stand at 51 which includes 16 active cases.

8. MEA has started process of consultation with States/UTs for bringing back Indians stranded in foreign countries. Decision would be taken after getting feedback on preparedness of States/UTs to receive them following all required health precautions.

9. A 57-year-old Head Constable, who tested positive for COVID-19, passed away today in Mumbai.

10. Till date, 1,945 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Madhya Pradesh and 99 people have lost their lives. Indore has recorded 1085 cases and 57 deaths while in Bhopal there are 388 cases and 9 deaths.
