Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook Start Trending On Twitter After Global Outage

The services of social media sites WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook were briefly down around the world on Friday night.

As per Downdetector, the issue started at around 10.40 pm in India and prevented WhatsApp users from sending or receiving messages on the service for more than an hour. However, WhatsApp is claiming that the service was only down for 45 minutes.

Many users including in India were unable to access both Instagram and Facebook on Android and iOS for about an hour. They were greeted with a “couldn’t refresh feed” message.

Several users took to microblogging site Twitter and wrote about their problems in accessing Facebook and Instagram, using the hashtag #instagramdown and #facebookdown.
