Fact Check: This Viral Image Showing BSP Poster In Lucknow Metro Is Fake

Ahead of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, a poster has surfaced on social media platforms with a claim that there are posters on Lucknow Metro stating that Bahujan Samaj Party will form government in the state.

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation” can be seen written at the bottom along with its logo.

A Facebook user shared the poster with a caption in Hindi that translates to, “Posters of the upcoming #BSP government started to be posted in Lucknow Metro.”

The image is also doing rounds on Twitter also.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image and found it to be edited.

With the help of a Reverse Image Search, we found a website that carried the exact same template of the billboard in the subway as seen in the viral image. Below is the comparison.

One can clearly see that the viral image has been added to the template available online.

Moreover, we checked further but did not find any credible source to suggest that any such poster has been installed along the walls of the tunnel of the metro station.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the viral image is fake.
