Date:

A screenshot of a tweet allegedly posted by journalist Ajit Anjum is being widely shared on social media with a claim that he will leave journalism if Yogi Adityanath comes back to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2022.

(English Translation: If Yogi wins again in Uttar Pradesh in 2022 elections, then I will leave journalism and open a chicken shop in Billimran, Delhi.)

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim and found it to be FALSE.

Starting with our investigation, we searched the official Twitter handle of Ajit Anjum but could not find any such tweet by him. We also noticed that he doesn’t even have a verified blue tick Twitter account as seen in the viral screenshot.

Searching further, we found a tweet by Ajit Anjum on February 5, 2022, which carried the viral screenshot. Calling this viral image “photoshopped”, Ajit Anjum stated that this was a new propaganda against him.

Searching further, we found that he had posted a 15-minute long video on his official Facebook and YouTube channels calling this viral screenshot fake.

Thus, it is evident from the above information that a fake tweet is being falsely shared as Ajit Anjum declaring that he will leave journalism if Yogi Adityanath comes back to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
