‘Asani’ Likely To Move Northwestwards Till May 10; Rains In Several Parts

Bhubaneshwar: The severe cyclonic storm Asani is likely to move northwestwards till 10th May and is likely to reach Westcentral and adjoining the northwest Bay of Bengal to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast. 

According to the predictions of the Indian Meteorological Data (IMD), the Asani Cyclone will gradually weaken in the next 48 hours. 

IMD further added that light and moderate rainfall is very likely to commence from Tuesday evening at many places over districts of coastal Odisha and heavy rainfall (7 -11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, and Puri.

The IMD also issued warnings for the fishermen to not venture around the central part of the Bay of Bengal on Monday. 

Isolated and heavy rainfall is predicted in the next five days in Northeast India including Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura from 9th May to 12th May.
