Delhi-NCR Wakes Up To Heavy Rain; Fight Services Affected, Trees Uprooted

New Delhi: As the national capital woke up to heavy rain on Monday, several parts of Delhi and nearby areas witnessed power blackouts and roadblocks due to waterlogging and uprooted trees.

The bad weather also affected flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The Delhi Airport in the tweet requested the passengers to contact the airline.

Meanwhile, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said thundershower with moderate rainfall will continue over Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) for the “next two hours”.

SpiceJet tweeted that the bad weather in Delhi may affect departures and arrivals at the airport as it requested its passengers to keep a check on their flight status.

Gurugram Traffic Police tweeted “waterlogging reported on NH-48 at Narsingpur, near the Signature tower & near DLF phase-1 Metro station. Our traffic officials are on spot to facilitate traffic flow. Commuters are requested to plan their travel accordingly”
