Rain Lashes Parts Of Delhi; IMD Predicts Showers In Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka

After waiting for over a week, rains lashed the national capital on Monday afternoon. The residents of Delhi woke up to a humid morning today with the minimum temperature settling at 27.1 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, maximum temperature is likely to settle at 35 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity at 8.30 am was 75 per cent.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted possibility of light rain or drizzle for the next six days in Delhi-NCR.

The monsoon embraced Delhi on June 30 but rains have repeatedly missing since then. Today the city has experienced showers.

The weather department, in its bulletin published on Sunday, issued a yellow alert for the national capital on July 11. 

IMD also released weather predictions for the forthcoming monsoon, isolated very heavy rainfall for coastal Karnataka on July 12 and 13, South Interior Karnataka from July 9 to 11, Telangana on July 10 and 11, West Madhya Pradesh and Odisha on July 12 and 13, Vidarbha (Maharashtra) on July 9, 11, and 12, and over Chhattisgarh on July 10 and 13.

Red Alert has been issued in the parts of Telangana and Maharashtra since Saturday.

Over Jammu and Kashmir on July 9 and 10, Himachal Pradesh on July 10, 12, and 13, and Uttarakhand on July 10 and 13, isolated heavy rainfall is extremely likely.

Additionally, the weather department has stated that fresh intense wet spell is likely over Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, central Maharashtra and coastal Karnataka from July 12.
