Fact Check: Old Video from Bikaner Viral as Bike Washed Away in Mumbai, Jodhpur Flood Waters

A video, in which a bike can be seen being washed away on a flooded street, is shared on social media with a claim that it is from Mumbai. Some posts also claim that the video is from Jodhpur.

FACT CHECK 

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be old.

Several social media users have also mentioned that it is an old video from Bikaner.

We ran a keyword search and found the same video uploaded on Twitter, dated August 1, 2019, with the caption: “Today it rained and this is #KoteGate in the centre of desert city of #Bikaner. For my friends who wonder 🤔 and often ask if there is any water at all in #TharCity.”

Similar videos were also uploaded on Facebook in August 2019. The post mentioned that video was from Bikaner, Rajasthan.

On examining the video carefully, we could see hoardings of the ‘Roopsagar saree‘ and ‘Teen Bhayiyo Ki Dukaan’ and ‘Khatri Cloth Store.

Both the shops are located in Kote Gate, Bikaner, in Rajasthan.

So, it is clear that the video is old and from Bikaner. Hence, it can be concluded that the recent posts are misleading.
