BCCI Announces Squad For Asia Cup, Virat Kohli Makes Comeback

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 on Monday. Rohit Sharma has been named as captain for the side with Virat Kohli making a comeback to the squad.

The Asia Cup is all set to begin on August 27th in Dubai. India will face Pakistan in a blockbuster game on August 28th in the second game of league matches.

Virat Kohli has been added to the squad after being left out from the team in the West Indies tour and upcoming Zimbabwe tour.

KL Rahul has been named as the vice-captain for the side as he makes a crucial addition to the opening pair in the squad. KL Rahul missed the tours earlier due to injury followed by testing positive for COVID.

Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel were ruled out of the tournament due to injuries. The statement further added that both the players will join camp at the NCA in Bengaluru for further rehabilitation.

The Indian Squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain ), KL Rahul (Vice Captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, R Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Hardik Pandya, R Jadeja, R Ashwin, Y Chahal, R Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan.
